For machining
Modern machining requirements are related to speed and cost and tool characteristics are essential for cost of work. In heavy-duty and high-speed machining tools are under extreme conditions and subject to abrasive wear, cyclic and strength loads, and high temperature. Under such conditions tools quickly become unworkable and are to be replaced and that decelerates the production process and causes extra costs. In order to comply with the market situation, up-to-date tools are to possess high surface characteristics acquired due to deposition of protective coatings. Protective coatings extend tool service life 2-12 times and prevent workpiece material from adhering to the tool cutting edge which improves surface finish machining. We designed equipment and techniques for obtaining a wide range of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant durable protective coatings of high abrasive and thermal resistance. The best results may be achieved due to optimum combination of a tool and a coating with relation to specified materials and machining conditions.
Our plasma plants enable to obtain a wide range of coatings for cutting tools, presses and dies and tribotechnical coatings for machine components. Each type of tools and components require specific coatings with computerized standard deposit conditions. Due to a unique magnetic system in the planar multi-cathode arc evaporator, content of drop phase in coatings is minimized which makes coefficient of friction between a tool and a workpiece minimum. Coatings are uniform in composition and thickness and have high performance characteristics.
